Fashion masochist

I'm a fashion masochist... it's official.

This weekend, I once again scoured the internet for cute and functional plus size workout clothes. I've done this dozens of times in the last 5 months.  It always ends the same - with me slamming the lid of my laptop in disgust and defeat.

I always end up venturing over to the average size websites to see their selection. Athleta and Nike and Reebok, oh my! I gaze longingly at the cute, matching outfits in every outfit of the rainbow. I drool over the descriptions detailing the specialized materials like CoolMax that promise to wick away every drop of sweat during a Spin class.  I am ready to whip out my credit card and sign on the dotted line for these well-made, cute, functional workout clothes!

This Sunday, the target of my drool was once again, Lululemon.  I wandered over and found an adorbs tank called "Free To Be"...almost exactly what I'm looking for.

Free To Be Tank

I click and find that the size range is 2-10!  Yikes!  They not only fail to provide clothes for plus size (14+), but they even shun the (perfectly normal) size 12 girls.  Apparently you're "free to be" anything... except plus sized, active and stylish.

I'm an athlete, damn it! I can say that now without snickering, self doubt or fear of being judged. I AM an athlete. Six days a week, I work out - hard. I swim, bike, run, do burpees, squats, lunges and deadlifts. I stretch and contort my body in ways some skinny girls can't dream of! Athletes come in all shapes and sizes, and so should our clothes!

My perfect, dream tanktop should lift and hold my boobs, magically smooth my backfat, hold in my rolls, and be long so that it hits in the neighborhood of my mid ass. It should be tight enough that when I'm in downdog, it doesnt fall down and expose me, but be loose enough that it isnt clinging to my stomach.   Is that so much to ask?   :)

For my curvy friends (size 12+)... - where do you get your workout clothes?
